Experience
The Foothills Flooring Company is a Hickory-based flooring contractor serving homeowners and businesses across Catawba, Caldwell, Burke and Alexander Counties. With 15 years of experience and hundreds of completed residential and commercial projects behind us, we install hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, carpet and commercial flooring, and we treat every job — a single bedroom or a full office building — with the same attention to detail.
Hickory has a little bit of everything when it comes to floors. Older homes in neighborhoods like Viewmont and Kenworth often have original hardwood, worn carpet or uneven subfloors that need attention before anything new goes down. Newer homes around Hickory, Conover and Newton are ready for an upgrade to durable LVP. And the area's offices, medical practices, churches and storefronts need commercial floors that stand up to heavy daily traffic. We handle all of it, and we start every project with the subfloor.
Our approach to flooring in Hickory is simple: measure accurately, quote honestly, prep properly, and leave your space clean. You get a clear written estimate, a crew that shows up when we say we will, and a floor we're proud to put our name on.

What types of flooring does The Foothills Flooring Company install?
With 15 years of experience and hundreds of completed projects, we install hardwood flooring, luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and luxury vinyl tile, carpet and carpet tile, and commercial flooring for offices, medical and dental practices, churches, schools and retail spaces. We handle both residential and commercial projects throughout Hickory and the surrounding counties.
Do you install commercial flooring in Hickory NC?
Yes. Commercial flooring is a core part of our work. We install commercial LVP, carpet tile, broadloom carpet and resilient flooring in offices, reception areas, hallways, auditoriums and other high-traffic spaces, and we plan the schedule around your business so you can keep operating.
Is luxury vinyl plank a good choice for kitchens and basements?
For most homes, yes. Luxury vinyl plank is highly water-resistant, holds up well to pets and foot traffic, and gives the look of real wood at a lower cost. That makes it a popular choice for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and basements where solid hardwood is not a good fit. We will help you choose a product that suits the room and your budget.
Should I choose hardwood or LVP flooring?
Hardwood offers natural character, can be refinished over its life and adds lasting value, which makes it a strong choice for living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms. LVP is the better fit where water, heavy wear or pets are a concern. Many homeowners use both. During your free estimate we walk through each room and recommend the right floor for how you live.
What areas does The Foothills Flooring Company serve?
We are based in Hickory, NC and serve homes and businesses across four counties: Catawba County (Hickory, Conover, Newton, Claremont, Maiden, Catawba, Sherrills Ford), Caldwell County (Lenoir, Granite Falls, Hudson, Sawmills), Burke County (Morganton, Valdese, Drexel, Rutherford College, Connelly Springs, Hildebran) and Alexander County (Taylorsville, Bethlehem, Hiddenite).
How much does flooring cost in Hickory, NC?
As of fall 2026, typical installed prices in Hickory run $4.50 to $7.00 per square foot for most luxury vinyl plank jobs, $8 to $11 for engineered hardwood, $10 to $14 for solid site-finished hardwood and $3.50 to $5.50 for carpet, material plus labor. Hickory pricing usually runs a bit below Charlotte. Tear-out, subfloor leveling and stairs are listed separately. See the full table on our flooring prices page.
Do you offer financing?
We don't finance in house — The Foothills Flooring Company is a flooring contractor, not a lender.
